Mache Belangel-De La Torre
lover of LIFE, KNOWLEDGE and ART........
I thirst for knowledge like the dry earth thirsts for moisture. I learn not to compete but to hone my intellect into understanding my being, those I co-exist with and the planet I dwell in. My passion for art makes me see beauty even in the oddest of things and explains why I have cultivated tolerance to the existence of the unsightly . I have finally conquered my fear of detachment and is being consoled by the thought that I own no one and no one owns me. After all we are at our best when we are most free. I detest politics like I do sashimi. Its raw, bloody and foul tasting. I love my Life and those who help make it worthwhile. Despite the dilemma, it is still worth living.
For me, a good book is the best pal when the sailing gets rough. It paddles me away from the whirlpool's eye and drowns me into the sea of fluid dreams. When Im not sleeping i while away time doing the things I love most. Cooking for my husband and kids, smearing paints on canvases, giving justice to ink and paper , hugging the 3;most beautiful kids in the world to me-Biel, Akie and Jad; sweating myself to dehydration with running and racket sports, saving up for a new oven and a violin( pour ma fille Biel) . Vanessa you rock !!!! In the future, when Im done walking on white-tiled floors amidst while walls, i shall go back to tread long old dusty roads . In clean white shoes and with steady hands, the hungry I shall feed, the sick I shall heal and the naked I shall cloth. For I pass these pavements only once, might as well leave footprints for many to trail. Cest pour Toi, Mon Dieu. Tu es la ray-on de lumiere, l'inspiration, l'esperance.... Ma Vie!
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step -- Confucius."
Marichel "Mache" Belangel-De la Torre was born to a family of artists. Unlike her dancing, singing, stage acting, prolific writing skills which she later honed and passion for forensic pathology, Mache’s love for painting manifested at a younger age. Under the tutelage of her artist mother, she and her siblings spent the whole afternoon of every summer mastering drawing and painting
As education, work and family became her priorities, the artist took a 15 year hibernation from the art world. As they say, once an artist, always an artist. Mache rekindled her romance with her first love, painting, when she met her art soulmate Joan Honoridez, whom she fondly calls Master and Partner Joan . From then on the soul-seeking journey of a thousand miles through art began.
